Recs if you like The Love Curse of Melody McIntyre...

in progress

Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

For my favs / read, check out my other lists & shelves.

Open to suggestions for more titles.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Any form of sapphic or w|w romance <3

All of these are from the list that Texas lawmaker Matt Krause in October of 2021 tried and in many cases succeeded to get banned from classrooms and school libraries. There are quite a few interesting and odd choices in there which is part of why I wanted to share this list on here. Not necessarily recommendations but there are some pretty good books on here. As well as a lot of textbooks

In October 2021, Texas State Representative Matt Krause initiated an inquiry targeting a list of approximately 850 books in Texas public schools, alleging they could cause "discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress" regarding race or sex. The list disproportionately targeted LGBTQ+ topics, race/racism, and sex education.

This is my project to read through this list for myself - utilizing my local library system for access to these titles. Follow the journey or join along!

For those looking for a light read <3

For when you want to read a cute love story that makes you giggle and kick your feet

These are fairly lighthearted romance books with teenage/young adult main characters. This list is composed of books I've read and enjoyed, but if anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to comment them!

Books told in interesting formats such as diary, slack messages etc; or from interesting voices such as death, a dog, gods etc; or where multiple unusual POVs are utilised.
