What if the figure that haunted your nightmares as child, the myth of the man in the woods, was real? He'll slice your flesh. Your bones he'll keep. Twenty years ago, four teenagers went exploring in the local woods, trying to find to the supposed home of The Bone Keeper. Only three returned. Now, a woman is found wandering the streets of Liverpool, horrifically injured, claiming to have fled the Bone Keeper. Investigating officer DC Louise Henderson must convince skeptical colleagues that this urban myth might be flesh and blood. But when a body is unearthed in the woodland the woman has fled from, the case takes on a much darker tone. The disappeared have been found. And their killer is watching every move the police make. The brilliant new police procedural from Luca Veste, featuring series characters Murphy and Rossi - a guaranteed page-turner.

The Bone Keeper by Luca Veste
Well.....this was terrifying (until the last few chapters). Not going to lie, when I first started reading this I may have not slept very well. There’s just something about creepy urban myths that stick in your brain and make every creak in your house and every shadow on the wall absolutely frightful
This story started out so binge worthy, and for the most of the book it stayed the same. Until you find out the truth, then I found myself skim reading the last couple of chapters. I just wasn’t bothered anymore, it lost its scare factor. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still horrible knowing that it’ll be carried on and more people will suffer in the future. It’s just no longer that creepy shadow in the corner of the room that’s scaring you
All in all I gave it 4 stars......I’d have given it 5 if it wasn’t for the ending. I would still recommend this to people who like bump in the night urban myth thrillers
