When seventeen-year-old Lilliana Young enters the Metropolitan Museum of Art one morning during spring break, the last thing she expects to find is a live Egyptian prince with godlike powers, who has been reawakened after a thousand years of mummification.
And she really can’t imagine being chosen to aid him in an epic quest that will lead them across the globe.
But fate has taken hold of Lily, and she, along with her sun prince, Amon, must travel to the Valley of the Kings, raise his brothers, and stop an evil, shape-shifting god named Seth from taking over the world.
From New York Times bestselling author Colleen Houck comes an epic adventure about two star-crossed teens who must battle mythical forces and ancient curses on a journey with more twists and turns than the Nile itself.

I do have to start off by saying that I think the cover is absolutely gorgeous! On the other hand, I wasn't sure how I was going to like the story. I liked the Tiger Saga right up until the last book and I was worried this series was going to be the same. I also had a problem with the way Colleen Houck represents other cultures (a stereotypical white representation of other people's culture with little to no real research). For the story line: I liked the story. I thought Lily was a little too snobby (despite her own protests to the contrary) but I liked her interaction with Amon. I would have liked the story better if Asten and Ahmose didn't automatically become attracted to her as well. The same problems with cultural representation are present in this book as they were in the series. I need more of the actual Egyptian culture! Not just googled snippets!!! I also can't see where the second book in this series could possibly go. I feel like Colleen Houck could have easily (and preferably) made this a standalone. I will read the second book but I won't be buying the series.
