in honor of disability pride month, here is a series on the colours of the flag! the last (but certainly not least) colour on this flag is black, or grey, depending on who you ask. these colours are the most powerful of the bunch, since they represent those in the disability community who have died due to ableism, eugenics, suicide, illness and abuse. books in this list will be fiction and non-fiction. as always, please feel free to comment ur recs!

Niche History: HIV/AIDS
Books that focus on the AIDS epidemic (mostly US, mostly the 80s-90s - though not exclusively). This includes history, sociology, cultural criticism of the time, and even fiction. This is such an important era to understand modern politics - especially queer politics and the LGBTQ+ community
Romances of the Past (low to no spice)
Love through the ages, blooming slowly through the pages for you. Enjoy how these couples grow to love each other through their hardships and how their relationship builds up.

Utah banned books
