Memoirs from people who either are or were in religious movements or cults of any kind. This is not anti-religion, and includes memoirs of people still in their religions, and I am ALWAYS looking for more - please offer suggestions.

most of these are focused on christianity as those are the books i have personally researched but many are applicable for other faiths as well. no one is required to deconstruct, but for those of us looking to read more, here is the place i’ve started.

Fiction & nonfiction books that explore the complexities and traumas of father-child relationships or in which such relationships play a central role. Not all books on this list include “daddy issues” — these books can be about the different perspectives and nuances of the father-child relationship, whether positive or negative. Some books center the child, some the father, some both.
