    2021 audiobook, 3.8 stars
-Zinny is mainly struggling with the recent death of her aunt, who was like a mother to her. And she's also still working through the death 9 years ago of her close cousin baby Rose
-In my memory, the trail served to be a place and method where Zinny did a lot of self-reflection and also learned/realized life lessons, and grew up a fair bit. In this read through, the book had a stronger mystery element with Zinny not remembering the medallion and the significance of that which was... what exactly? that didn't hold enough weight for me.
-I'd describe this book (now that I'm old, haha) as a book where a young person is starting that growing up part of life, and is seeing and processing grief from both a child's POV and an adult perspective
---I don't know that it ACTUALLY send much that would be helpful regarding grief or death, but still was multiple sections of some self-reflection and questioning how life, death, time, and love all worked, which I think is great to have here
-This read was mostly nostalgic, I was amazed how many bits I remembered!
