Lincoln I’ve done a good job getting over my past. I’m not only proud of who I am, but revel in it. Still, I don’t let myself get too close to people. With closeness comes questions and those pesky feelings, and I’m having none of that. I’ve got a great job, friends, I’m cute and twinky, and my bed’s never empty. What more do I need? Except I can’t stop sleeping with Rush Alexander. I try, I really do, but I just can’t stay away, and that, ladies and gentlemen, is stressing me out. Rush has the power to hurt me—something I swore I’d never let happen again. Unfortunately, things become a little more complicated when I tell a white lie that lands me in a fake relationship with him. Yeah, not my best moment. Rush I’ve always been an easygoing guy and don’t let many things get to me. I’ve worked hard to make my dream of becoming a professional motocross racer come true, and everything else is icing on the cake. Like Lincoln Gray, for example. I need to tread carefully, even though I want more from him than our occasional hookups. If I give what we have too much throttle, we’ll crash and burn. But when Linc accidentally announces we’re boyfriends in front of my mom, the race is on. First, I have to show him there’s more between us than the way we burn up the sheets together. When Linc finally trusts me in ways he doesn’t anyone else, there’s no turning back. I’m a firm believer that nothing worth having comes easily, and Lincoln Gray is worth it all.

I loved this book more than Fired Up. I don't know why there are so many mixed reviews about this book because I enjoyed Rush and Lincoln's story all the way through. This story is a Motorcross/Friends to Lovers romance. Rush and Lincoln have been friends for a very long time but they have a friends-to-benefits relationship. They have been seeing each other on and off and still being friends. Lincoln has a fear of rejection because of a traumatic experience from a past relationship. He always had a thing for Rush but has always denied it because of his fear. Rush has always liked Lincoln and always wanted more between them. Rush is a professional Motocross player and during a race, he got hurt and injured his shoulder. When he got to the hospital, Lincoln lied to a nurse that he was Rush's boyfriend in a panic, not noticing a sports reporter was there, and overheard him. Now that Lincoln has lied about being Rush's boyfriend they had to pretend they were dating because the reporter wanted to write about Rush and how Rush is the only gay motocross player who was out and had a boyfriend. During all of this, Lincoln realizes that he has feelings for Rush and that he wants to be his boyfriend.
I loved Rush and Lincoln's dynamic. They were sweet, sarcastic, playful, supportive, and loving. They had their mishaps but never gave up on each other.
I also loved the side characters in this story. Rush's mom was amazing, she was very accepting of Lincoln and accepted him like he was family and was there for him. There was also this kid named Trey who had cancer and was Lincoln's patient because Lincoln worked as a nurse and was there to take off and look after Trey. Their friendship was really sweet and precious.
Overall, Whiskey Throttle is another amazing story written by Riley Hart and I highly recommend it.
"We didn't whiskey throttle," I told him.
"No, we didn't, Red. We got started off just right."
