Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

I’m in trouble from the moment I find my mate... After breaking things off with my abusive ex, I needed somewhere safe to rebuild my life, and you don’t get any safer than living with a group of protective bear shifters. When Trey comes home from college, we know right away that we’re mates. He used to be a rebel, but now he’s determined to make up for his past mistakes and prove himself to his clan—and to me. Even with my relationship history, it’s hard to resist a bear that hot and sweet. Then a baby is left on his doorstep and things get complicated fast. I also make the mistake of bumping into my ex-boyfriend, Harlem, who has just been released from prison and is still as dangerous as I remember. Maybe Trey and I aren't fated to be together after all, but Trey's bear isn't going to give up without a fight...

Trey, the 3rd brother, previously known as “Reck” for his reckless behavior, and Polly, former girl friend of bad guy Harlem from the previous book.

This one has a little different twist than the previous books that Trey immediately recognizes Polly as his mate. He doesn’t go after her right away, he goes off to a semester at college and comes back. They have a one night stand, and then talk over email/phone for another semester. Polly is rebuilding her life after Harlem stalked her.

This has a crazy thing where they get back together after a few months apart and during sex Polly demands Trey “claim” her, saying she knows what that means, but SHE DOES NOT until its too late. So the stakes are high for them to figure things out. If she doesn’t want to be with him after he claims her, he’ll probably die. And he feels terrible that it happened.

AND this has the added bonkers that a baby turns up, from one of Trey’s one-night-stands before he met Polly. And Polly can’t have kids.

I got a little bored by the Harlem stalking bit, this is the 3rd book with a stalker ex, almost 4th of we count Lex’s ex that roofied her. It’s a little repetitive at this point, BUT I read it anyway, so I can’t fault the author. Though I do see some books in the Dragon series are similar, so maybe its the author’s thing. So I know what I’m getting.
