Read this for Ladies Comic Club 07/19/17 at Liz's house.

Liked the art, and I liked Batgirl, but as per usual when I read comics that are Marvel or DC, I felt like I wasn't reading the beginning but was reading somewhere in the middle and didn't have the backstory to understand what was going on.
Even though this is Volume 1, I'd never heard of the Killing Joke so that went totally over my head--only some other members of the club informed me of it obliquely. There was a reference to when she had been Batgirl previously, and also mention of her training with Batman and the other hot guy. These are all things that I wanted to know more about! It felt like I wasn't reading Volume 1 but instead Volume 6. Frustrating, and the reason I'm determined to not get into comic reading, because then I will feel like I need to read EVERYTHING to understand.
