Recs if you like The History of Sound...

The book girlies are seeing their favourite characters on screen this year so if you didn’t know or want to be ahead of the game and prep, this list is here. This list includes tv adaptations and movies so if you’re curious make sure to see if it’s streaming or theatre release.

P.s. I’m including books whose adaptations already came out this year so far

Some recommendations

Novels with compelling and well-developed characters in love, either romantic or platonic, and both the good, the bad, and the heartbreaking

queer books that have blue covers and deal with themes of loss/grief/depression/heartbreak/etc., or, occasionally, the main character is just not having a great time

this list is unfortunately still very white, cis and male-centered. I want to have more diverse representation, please feel free to leave suggestions :)

also: the history of sound is a collection of short stories, most of which aren’t queer. I’m thinking of maybe taking it off the list, once it is a little longer
