Fluff to smut, including 18+ etc aka not exclusive to anything specific other than being queer content (queer & queer-rep inclusive stories). I have read a good handful of the ones now at the bottom of the list. Includes intended middle-grade-ish-level youth content to adult audience content.

THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION LIST. Inclusion on this list doesn't necessarily mean the rep "worked" for me (as an agender person). There's just so little manga with non-cis characters that this list is literally everything I was able to think of that I've read and meets this criteria. Therefore your mileage may vary on how you feel about the rep contained in them.

I encourage folks to suggest more titles so I can add them! And so I can read them, lmao.

Manga that I feel in my soul is subtextually or explicitly queer.

All of these are from the list that Texas lawmaker Matt Krause in October of 2021 tried and in many cases succeeded to get banned from classrooms and school libraries. There are quite a few interesting and odd choices in there which is part of why I wanted to share this list on here. Not necessarily recommendations but there are some pretty good books on here. As well as a lot of textbooks

It's free comic books day, and we love comics and graphic novels every day, so here, have over 150 of our favorite graphic novels starring queer characters. (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

curated list of my fave fiction that have authentic and in-depth portrayals of the bi+ experience—often through intersections with gender expansiveness and the aromantic/asexual spectrums—as attraction that transcends gender, and/or the unique simultaneous embodiment of homosexuality and heterosexuality.

We get flooded with Yuri and Yaoi of varying quality... so instead here are some manga about the gender queer/transgender experience that aims felt were super refreshing and gave a great view into current LGBT+ struggles in modern Japan. Only the first book in a series is included.

In October 2021, Texas State Representative Matt Krause initiated an inquiry targeting a list of approximately 850 books in Texas public schools, alleging they could cause "discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress" regarding race or sex. The list disproportionately targeted LGBTQ+ topics, race/racism, and sex education.

This is my project to read through this list for myself - utilizing my local library system for access to these titles. Follow the journey or join along!

creator's note: i haven't read all of these yet, so this isn't necessarily a list of recs. i just know these manga have trans mcs/non-fic authors. my personal favorites are boys run the riot, my journey to her, to strip the flesh, and after school mate, if you want some recs from a trans reader.

Books and Comics that center around at least one character that has some gender fuckery in some direction and are also fantastic stories. The character will either be the main character or a very important side character in the main cast that has a good chunk of story. This list spans genres, mediums, and cultures. This is in no way a complete list, but I have personally read all of them and give them all a full thumbs up
