Books and Comics that center around at least one character that has some gender fuckery in some direction and are also fantastic stories. The character will either be the main character or a very important side character in the main cast that has a good chunk of story. This list spans genres, mediums, and cultures. This is in no way a complete list, but I have personally read all of them and give them all a full thumbs up

Honorable mention to The Count of Monte Cristo who I can't add with confidence because Eugenie's part is so small, but it really is a great read. Eugenie's story was one of my favorites to the point that I looked for fanfic just to have more. TCoMC does say trans rights and 420 blaze it in the 1800s which is more than some modern books do (but there are, of course, problematic parts)
Also please note that because these are all different genres there are differing levels of triggering content in all of them. Be an adult and inform yourself before you read. Also I'm only putting the first book of a series to represent the series as a whole. Don't come for me if you only read book 1 and don't see any gender fuckery. Keep reading.
