Recs if you like Edgedancer...

There are a lot of suggested Cosmere Reading orders, but I really wanted to read in the order that Sanderson himself suggested. He has a video he released on YouTube with a suggested reading order for his books, so I put together a list that reflects what he posted in that video. The short stories that aren't tied to any particular series are sprinkled in between some of the larger reads like the Stormlight Books. If you have suggestions on how to order said short stories, i'm open to move them around, but please be kind and understand that this entire thing is going to be subjective. Even Sanderson's video was loose in its suggestions, like he didn't want to dictate what his readers pick up. That said, here's the list!

Cosmere Reading List by Publication Order

Short stories and novellas may overlap with Arcanum Unbounded.

If you’re planning to read White Sands go for the Omnibus version instead of the single volumes.

Brandon Sanderson universe ~ Cosmere 🌑

Collection of Cosmere works. Note: Arcanum Unbounded collects many of the novellas and short stories into a single collection.

Books featuring characters who dislike wearing shoes. I'd like to keep this focused on characters who actually prefer walking barefoot instead of doing it for lack of access to suitable footwear, magic reasons, or because shoes are simply not widespread in their culture, but of course, these things might overlap. Suggestions to add/remove books are welcome, especially if you can provide a quote! I only had the source for one of these on hand and everything else comes from memory.

All buddy reads taking place in the Organized Book Club discord starting and/or ending in 2025. The list will be updated throughout the year.

This curated collection features captivating short reads that pack complete worlds into just a few pages. From enchanted realms and star-crossed lovers to futuristic technologies, these compact stories offer the perfect escape for busy readers. Each book is 35k words or under

(Completo)

This list is for anyone who wants to start reading the 'Mistborn' saga (which is part of the Cosmere Universe) in order, and doesn't know where to begin 😁

NOTE: You have to go all the way down the list, and that's the begging). Also, ‘Arcanum Unbounded’ has some short stories that happen throughout the whole saga (that’s why there are some stories than are only a few pages long), the ones that aren’t mentioned in the list…can be read whenever you want.
