Recs if you like Blood Follows (The Tales of Bauchelain and Korbal Broach, #1)...

fantasy books that feature necromancy - with protagonists or antagonists as necromancers. for magic systems that are more than a little macabre

The Malazan Book of the Fallen is a series of epic fantasy novels written by the Canadian author Steven Erikson. The series consists of ten volumes, beginning with Gardens of the Moon (1999) and concluding with The Crippled God (2011). Erikson's series presents the narratives of a large cast of characters spanning thousands of years across multiple continents. Now with all subsequent series, finished or not! I recommend checking out the Malazan wiki for a reading order or discussing here.
