Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

The only criteria for this list is that it has a queer character and takes place near or on Halloween. Most books are horror, romance (both mild and spicy), mystery, or thriller. I haven't read most of these so I welcome suggestions. Happy gay Halloween!

Anthologies of fiction or comics that are either specifically themed around or prominently feature queer characters, stories, or authors

Some of these Ive read and some I havent yet. I've just noticed a pattern and wanted to share. Partially inspired by the lovely list 'Queer Anthologies' by kathytrithardt !! Always open to suggestions!

These YA stories tackle misogyny, male violence, or call out the small ways in which girls, women, and people read as such are treated like possessions, objects, "less than". They may show young women and afabs that refuse the roles others try to force onto them, or simply people standing up and saying "no further". Recs are welcome, as always. For other genres/target audiences, look at my other lists with the word "Feminist" in them.

The spoopy season is upon us, and queer love prevails! Get ensnared in these books throughout October, where romance meets ghosts, monsters, witches, and all things delightfully eerie. From cozy paranormal crushes to deliciously dark entanglements, these books are sure to give you chills in all the best ways.

“Queer” refers to the identities of the main characters, not whether a romantic relationship is between a man and a woman. This list spans a multitude of sexual/romantic orientations and relationship orientations.

Note: If a series features the same MCs, I've only put the first book. If a series features different MCs, I've only listed the relevant book(s) in the series.
