Estoy feliz de al fin terminar esta historia y me alegro de que todos los demás libros sean autoconclusivos.
Me hizo nanai que Rincewind tenga esta conclusión, de verdad espero que las cosas mejoren para él.
Quiero mucho a dosflores y lo voy a extrañar.

Con este libro se nota el camino que terry pratchett quería tomar con el mundodisco y no parece tan confuso como el primero. De todas formas, no recomiendo comenzar a leer el mundodisco con esta historia.

I love the characters in this series so much and this book is such a great expansion on The Colour of Magic. Same great humour, ridiculous adventures and silly creatures all wrapped up in Terry Pratchett's incredible storytelling. Rincewind, Twoflower and the Luggage have a special place in my heart, top 10 found family dynamics.

Still enjoyed this more than Color of Magic on re-read but it's still crunchy in comparison to later Discworld books. The new audiobook narration was really fun and definitely my favorite way to consume this story.

While I liked The Color of Magic, I think The Light Fantastic is the first Rincewind story to really get fun.

I've been in love with Terry Pratchett and Discworld since I was a teen but in my typical, random fashion just picked up stories as I felt like it and so now as an adult, I'm going back through and reading them in order. The Rincewind series was one that never interested me before and I think that's largely because of the occasional slowness in Color of Magic. The Light Fantastic picks up where the literal cliffhanger of The Color of Magic left off: with Rincewind, Twoflower and the Luggage in very dire circumstances.

In The Light Fantastic, a strange red star has appeared above Discworld and it is up to Rincewind, Twoflower, the Luggage and the companions they pick up along the way to save Discworld from colliding with the strange star in a celestial apocalypse. As the holder of one of the Eight Spells of the Octavo, Rincewind must figure out how to save Discworld and how to get the damn spell out of his head and maybe back to sanity.

While The Color of Magic spent a lot of time poking fun at magic systems and magic theory, The Light Fantastic is a straight up heroic adventure with some very un-heroic characters and is much more entertaining for it. Cohen the old and arthritic barbarian is particularly wonderful. The Light Fantastic is the kind of Pratchett story that made me fall in love with his writing. It's witty, adventurous and at times incredibly exciting. I wish I had known after the times I tried to read Color of Magic and gave up that the second in the series was this much better. Getting through Color of Magic can be a struggle but Light Fantastic definitely makes it worth continuing with the Rincewind stories.
