A pirate doesn’t ask for permission - he takes. When I see the delicate human female collared and enslaved by the smuggler I’m about to swindle, I do what any male would do. I take her from him. It’s what I do best, after all. Now Fran’s mine, and I’m never giving her up. On board my spaceship, she’ll be safe. She’ll wear my clothes, eat my food, and sleep in my bed. I’ll keep her safe from a galaxy that wishes her harm. But my sweet Fran wants nothing more than to return to Earth. How can I take her home when she holds my heart in her dainty, five-fingered hands? This story stands completely alone and is only marginally connected to the Ice Planet Barbarians series and Prison Planet Barbarian. You do not need to read those books in order to follow this one.

This was a fun time, but not memorable overall
I like seeing a ~bard main male character, it was fun to see Kivian care so much about his appearance but also to use his Charisma to help ensure that things went his way. Plus then turn out to be clever and sly when rescuing Fran
Once Fran was away from the Frog like bad guys, I don't really remember much else plot wise. She wore his clothes and the ship may be hung out in an asteroid belt to hide...?
I think at the end the males all boarded the froggy ship to steal some cargo and Fran had a moment of panic thinking that they had been hurt
This was a fun, overall light story that was perfectly wrapped up, I would have been happy with a full length novel for every book in this series. This somewhat had typical arrogant and charming hero who fell in love first with a fiery feisty heroine
I agree with some reviewers that both main characters needed a little bit more backstory / depth, and the book needed more relationships/emotional development in my opinion. As much as I love Ruby Dixon, her stuff is somewhat formulaic
