Recs if you like Reincarnation Blues...

books in which Death, or a god of Death, or the Grim Reaper (or a Grim Reaper), is personified. This list will NOT include the works of Neil Gaiman (ew)

Some debts don't clear at death. Some loves don't end with a body. Some enemies are patient enough to wait for your next life. 💀 These books take the premise literally - the soul has a history, and that history is not done with you. Whether you're born again into the same war, haunted by a love you can't name but somehow recognize, or hunted by something ancient that has been counting the lives between then and now, the past in these novels is not past. ‼️

This list features book covers illustrated/designed by Pennsylvania-based artist Jim Tierney. Tierney's illustrations feature sweeping textures, dramatic lighting, and bold, nostalgic text design, as you will definitely note while scrolling through this list. Please note that in some cases, his work is one of multiple versions of cover art for the same book, so it may appear as a different version here than the one he illustrated. In some cases I have avoided adding specific versions to curb confusion.

Novels about life after death: zombies, ghosts, after life, and reincarnation.

This is not ment to be a list of must-read existentialist text, it’s books (usually fiction) that embody existential themes and are 5-star writing! What does is mean to be human?
