Recs if you like Inkspell...

JK Rowling is a bigot who uses her platform to hurt transfolks and other marginalized groups (plus she literally just quoted Mein Kampf on the bird site). If you're still supporting her in 2025, don't bother talking to me.

Ah yes, this ol' issue that has plagued librarians and bookstore clerks for decades.

And sometimes you find the right book, but... can you even call that shade blue?

So you want to diversify your reading list and thought about checking German literature. Should you check out the classical ones? Try some modern reads? Here's a list of every type of German book I really enjoyed or I heard are excellent - from the classics, to YA, to non-fiction

books i got lost in during quiet reading time as a kid (and maybe you did too)

Books in which the characters 'go into' real, physical objects in their own world to get to another world/universe. It has to be objects that are not usually meant to 'transport' you, like vehicles or doorways.

✅ The Land of Stories: The characters have to 'go into' a book to get to the Land of Stories. ❌ Harry Potter: The characters take a train to another location within their own world. ❌ Coraline: The characters go through a secret door to get to the other world.

Recs always welcome!

How meta! Books that refer to books (or librarians) in them.

A list of books about characters being transported in and out of stories and books about bookstores.
