Recs if you like Rears & Vices...

Pirates, sailors, mermaids, sirens, selkies, tentancle monsters - if they live on/in the ocean and are queer, they've earned a spot on this list! Across genres and age groups - includes erotica. 🔞🔞🔞

Recommendations welcome!

✦ I have not read all of these books - if you notice anything that seems to be mis-labeled/mis-placed on this list, please let me know! ✦

We should all be reading queer, all year, but this list is full of upcoming queer books of all makes and models coming out in 2026. If you have a rec to add, just please keep in mind we’re looking for 2026 releases!

Romance books to read for the aesthetic (usually cartoon covers because I’m trash for character art)

Not a comprehensive list, definitely open to suggestions. I'll try to update this fairly often! This list features a wide variety of genres and representations!

this is an ongoing list of lgbtqiap+ books (across all genres, and age groups) that are planned to be released in 2026. if you’re an arc reader, you can also check whether any of them are available as arcs!! feel free to suggest books to add, since I’ll work on this list over time as well 🥰

last books added in: january!

Gays on boats. That's it, that's the list. (Open to recs! 🩵)

who doesn’t love a throuple romance? so long as there’s three people, no matter the configuration, and it’s at least a little gay, i’m putting it on this list. if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Hello! I love my non-fiction polyamory books but I want to read more fiction books with polyamory rep in it. I've tried to include a variety of genres although it is leaning towards scifi quite heavily.

I haven't read all the books here and am open to books being suggested or removed.

I've tried to keep it to positive rep. I've edited the list to focus on main characters engaging in polyamorous relationships.

Look, we all need some pirate romances in our lives sometimes. Here’s a list of romances where at least one character sails the high seas. As always, open to recs.

Books of the polyamorous sort. Haven't read all of them so I could be wrong on some. Some of these are set in non-monogamous cultures even if the protagonists themselves are not engaging in romance or polyamory.

Big thanks to AthenatheStorier who often finds and recommends these books through instagram or tiktok videos!

Also if you're a lover of polyamorous stories of any kind/medium, let me know. I want to co-write a collaborative analysis of polyamorous stories and you could help!
