Love to hear it hehe

1

AMAZING list thank you!!

2

Oo what about Dark Sun? A queer mermaid/captain of a ship!

2

do you have an author name for me? there are so many books with that name haha

Rebecca Roanhorse

1

I hadn't heard of it before, thank you!!!

1

oh yes oh yes oh Yes!!!

2

amazing list!!!! if you are open to suggestions, I believe that any book in Katee Robert’s Crimson Sails series would fit this list, the first book is about a captain and a bisexual witch, the second is about a vampire and a selkie aboard the same ship as the first book and is sapphic, and the last book is a throuple with a nonbinary mc and takes place on another ship

2

I hadn't heard of them before but I'm intrigued!! Are they standalones or should they be read as a series?

2

they can be read as standalones but there might be some inside jokes or references that get missed but not essential to the plot. also fair warning, they’re pretty explicit, it is Katee Robert after all šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø

2

gotcha! I'm certainly not going to complain about smutty pirates haha, thank you for the heads up tho!!!!

1

maybe our wives under the sea would fit?

2

It's on my tbr, but I haven't read it yet and wasn't sure if there are actual sea-adjacent beings in it or if it's just water vibes haha!

2

Would also recommend Sirens of the Sugar Seas by Kat Blackthorne, Chlorine by Jade Song, This Fatal Kiss by Alicia Jasinska, What Stalks the Deep by T. Kingfisher, The Lady of the Lake by Jean Menzies and Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant.

2

thank you for all the recs! I went back and forth about This Fatal Kiss, but I didn't add it because it's not set around the ocean! I'll look into the other ones!

2

All good! I loooove books about water, forgot This Fatal Kiss isn’t set in oceans šŸ˜‚

2

yeah same, I might make a more general queer water themed list at some point!
