okay, so obviously this title is meant to be catchy... but i felt awkward saying that to people... and when referencing this book would always say 'in this book i am reading about how french people eat' hah.
anyway... i guess this is all part of my ever searching desire to be a true frenchie. and although a lot of things i had already known about the way french people eat (ie. no snacks, no need for carbs at dinner) i also like the way that the french author, Mireille Guiliano explains how french people relate to food. unfortunately americans are so much more focused on diets and cutting out food groups and yo yoing between eating healthy and not, french people know how to enjoy food but also do it in a smart way.
little things like making sure you have some activity every day, the importance of water intake (but not during meals), eating quality food, and learning how to enjoy eating (even if you have a 'cheat meal' then eating a lighter meal later on or tomorrow)
those are just a few of the things i'm bringing up as examples, but the bottom line is that french people enjoy to eat, it's not a guilt filled thing for them, but they know how to do it in a way that is sustainable, so you don't end up going between a diet and no diet and then diet again because of the weight you put on.
