There's a werewolf with pre-lunar tension in Ankh-Morpork, and a dwarf with an attitude and a golem who's begun to think for itself. But for Commander Vimes, Head of Ankh-Morpork City Watch, that's only the start... There's treason in the air. A crime has happened. He's not only got to find out whodunit, but howdunit too. He's not even sure what they dun. But as soon as he knows what the questions are, he's going to want some answers.

In Feet of Clay, several mysterious deaths in Ankh Morpork lead Commander Vimes, Captain Carrot, Angua and the rest of the Watch into an investigation with an awful lot of not alive individuals plus a mystifying poisoning. It's up to them to solve both the murders and the poisoning before Ankh Morpork gets even more dangerous than usual.
After finishing the Witches section of Discworld last year (minus Tiffany Aching since I'm separating those out), I had decided to read the Watch section this year. Guards! Guards! and Men at Arms have long been among my favorite Discworld stories but somehow I'd never gotten around to Feet of Clay. It took me a little bit to get sucked in but much like Hogfather, it's sneakily philosophical in the most delightful of ways. I highly recommend it if you want a fun little fantasy/mystery that plays with what it really means to be alive and how you make your own choices.
