Almost Us (Almost Duet #2)

S.M. Shade

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

"Strip everything away from us and love is what’s left. It’s what we get to keep." We thought things couldn't get worse but the passing days proved us wrong. I could handle the public backlash and the cops at my door. I could handle the doubt and disbelief of our friends. As long as we were together, I thought I could handle anything. As the threats loomed closer, our days together dwindled away. After losing everything that mattered to me, I had to ask myself how much sacrifice was too much? How far would I go for him?

This duet broke me down and then loved me back together so many times, I can't even tell you. It was emotional, angsty and painful, but there was also friendship and love too. Some characters did and said some things that seemed completely out of character, but they do eventually mostly make sense.

So if you need some on page drama to drown out the real-life drama, I highly recommend this duet. You won't be disappointed!

I would give this a zero if I could.
