100 Gothic Classics
A list of 100 gothic classics which covers over 250 years of literature, from the high-drama castles of the 1700s to the psychological "New Gothic" of today.

Folk Horror

Outside freezes, so I want chills in my book
Horrors and thrillers set in winter (21st December to 20th March, but I will count earlier December as winter too to make things easier) or in a really cold place that reminds of wintertime.
The list will contain both more known books that you've probably already been recommended and some that I've seen have had less attention, at least over here. I have not read them all, but I want to complete this list myself too during the next Christmasses.

British and Irish Folk Horror
the green man, pagan rites, stone circles, sacrifice, jack of the woods

100 Screams of Summer
We think of summer as the season of light, but shadows are longest when the sun is highest. It is the time of the year when the woods grow too thick to see through, the water grows too dark to see into, and the heat makes the mind play tricks. From the rotting porches of the South to the blood-stained cabins of the North... We call them the Summer Nightmares.

POV: you're reading books on a picnic blanket
Summer reading I will be doing on a picnic blanket with fresh strawberries and a fun drink. Genre unspecified π ((Any recommendations for summer-set or summer-vibes books are welcome!))

Widows Bay Required Reading
if youβre craving something that feels like the next marthaβs vineyard (iykyk)! books that evoke the same feeling as the magnificent tv show βwidows bayβ

atmospheric books in remote or isolated locations
basically my favorite genre that encompasses a lot of other genres. all very different in tone! i have not yet read all of these.

Strange Antiquities
Historical fiction's haunted, feral cousins. Folk horror, Gothic uncanny, mythic retellings, and formally strange books that make the past feel alive, weird, and slightly dangerous.

The Naked Branch
A list no one asked for and no one needs! But thereβs something so atmospheric and aesthetically pleasing about trees with no leaves on them. So hereβs a long list of just that on the cover of books! Youβre welcome.
