Definitely giving major set up only book. I was confused with some character motivations as they felt very rushed, especially with Serapio and Naranpa at the end. Xiala didn’t do as much as I think she was really just being set up for book 3. Her entire plot line seems to be entirely revolved around Serapio at this point which I have mixed feelings about. LOVED Iktan and getting more of xir character. I love this series’ setting so much so even though I felt a lot of it was rushed and set up I still enjoyed reading it very much.

    SPOILERY:
I was really disappointed with Serapio and Naranpa’s fight at the end because the whole kindness thing felt SO rushed. I would’ve wanted more build up for that because I’m not surprised it went that route, it makes sense. It’s just we didn’t have the build up for it imo. Would’ve loved some more back and forth encounters or something to set that in place. Also Serapio’s “downfall” I guess to becoming more like the crow god felt like we could’ve had more time with the struggle. Idk! Some of the things he did felt out of character because it felt like he shouldn’t be at that point yet.
