Recs if you like The Fire Within...
Fantasy books you can read instead of Harry Potter
JK Rowling is a bigot who uses her platform to hurt transfolks and other marginalized groups (plus she literally just quoted Mein Kampf on the bird site). If you're still supporting her in 2025, don't bother talking to me.
stop supporting JKR!!!
books to get for the middle grade readers in your life that have similar vibes but are NOT Harry Potter (and are in fact better)
It's 2005 and you're at the Scholastic Book Fair
Books of the millennial reader's childhood (not just scholastic book fair). Sticking with chapter books, and not picture books :) All books pre-2005 Taking recs!
Dragons, dragons, dragons!
A compendium of books featuring dragons
๐ Here Be Dragons ๐
Just an absolute butt-tonne of dragon books, baby!!
where the dragon is our friend <3
i love fantasy but really hate it when the dragon is evil. it's one thing to be greedy and selfish and want shiny things and be clever and kinda evil, it's another when they are dumb violent beasts :( they are my friends! also i created this list in hopes to keep adding new finds so pls feel free to suggest recs!
Kid's Fantasy Adventure Series
Who TF needs JKR anymore? We got way better books out there dude
Less hyped than Harry Potter (but way better)
These middle grade series may not have seven movies, a TV show, and a literal theme park dedicated to them, but they sure deserve it! Especially because they weren't written by JKR. All recommended by Pagebound users, and suggestions are always always welcome -- middle grade fantasy/mystery series-starters only, please! Let's foster a love of reading in kids without supporting bigotry and hatred.
Here, There Be Dragons
Books that are either about or heavily feature everyone's favourite mythical beast: the mighty dragon
Here There Be Dragons

Danger Lizards
Books with dragons
blast from the past ๐
childhood reads that birthed a bibliophile and are worth rereading, remembering, or revisiting!
