Recs if you like Necrology...

Following women on journeys to do weird and maybe violent things.

*or gothic and generally horror-adjacent. i have not read all of these! some self-published i think as well

Books that are just as good as the cover promises. AKA: Fantastic book covers that also happen to be fantastic books! List will be added to in the future because I can’t leave well enough alone. (Suggestions welcome, leave it in the comments.)

horror novels published in canada with a particular emphasis on Indigenous authors and indie press publications! I'm currently in a publishing program learning about how in danger the canadian publishing industry is and how rarely book reading in canada actually highlights our own authors so one could say this list is a cope and an attempt to add that to ways i'm diversifying my reading. obv disclaimer that canada is. yikes. but this is in the context of mainly american books being platformed

Characters who go through a metamorphosis... Boddy horror too...

"And now I am changing, becoming something else, a creature of longing, tending only to myself."This list was Inspired by Perfume and Milk. A song by Florence and the machine. ❤️

Read your way through the awesome offerings from Creature Publishing (creature horror.com)

Books where the cover features only one person

Books with rabbits on the cover (and hares for those who care to distinguish!) for my investigation as to what genre bunnies usually represent

I do note that 70% is horror, but I am biased in my reading so that doesn't mean anything yet.

Recommendations are welcome, just keep in mind I'm trying to avoid children and middle grade books and I'm very hesitant to include YA books- but please feel free to convince me.
