I really enjoyed this. The author did a great job introducing the characters and the setting, without it seeming info dumpy. I really liked how she used chess to make the conflict between the two peoples seem more relatable and complex. Well written short stories always amaze me - they can make me care in just a few pages, and that's when you know you've read something great.
