Since my Solarpunk list was liked so much I decided to just continue with the sci-fi subgenres.

Biopunk is a sci-fi subgenre that fuses biology, technology, and often dystopian themes. It involves themes of genetic engineering, body modifications, biotechnology, and the ethical consequences of these advancements on society. The subgenre is closely related to cyberpunk and has lots of overlap. We follow underdogs that fight against the system or try to carve out a little bit of freedom.

Fiction about weird drugs that induce weird states/make you do weird things

Ideally not drugs that exist irl with cool new sci-fi names slapped on them. We're looking for totally new kinds of pharmacology here! Exciting (and potentially scary)!!

One of my favorite newly-discovered tropes is that of the reluctant hero. They're not a chosen one, not good at everything right away, don't want to be saving the world. They're dragged kicking and screaming on adventures, complaining about it the whole way, and maybe even suck at the job they have to do at first.

Only including the first book in a series unless they're standalones. Suggestions for all fiction genres welcome!

Science fiction books that have been adapted into TV shows

Books that are unambiguously depicting the use of technology and societal change to create the most evil society-warping machinations imaginable. So naturally, someone with lots of money and not a lot of decency or empathy will misinterpret it and try to make it real. Yay!

Cyberpunk books I enjoyed and/or plan to read, ranging from the genre-defininng works (Neuromancer) to more modern additions and short stories.

Gritty labs, mutations, gene hacks, body mods and corporate owning DNA. That's biopunk.

Grab a lab coat, or perhaps, a strange liquid in a test tube, and get ready to explore dark, futuristic worlds driven by biotechnology, genetic engineering, and synthetic biology.

List of books that features villainous/morally grey women. Some of those will only harm a person in self-defense, some are full-on genociders.

You understand and respect science, you really do. You appreciate good tech and revile the crap. And you cringe when politicians, news readers, pundits, journalists, even friends, get it wrong.

But damn, you wish you could go faster than light! What can you do?

You can read well-written, cool as hell, hard sci-fi with unbelievable but unforgettable characters.
