Recs if you like Predatory Natures...

Fiction books featuring plants as a major theme. For the purpose of this list, fungi are honorary plants! All fiction genres here (though I am primarily a fantasy reader, so suggestions most welcome!)

Cottagecore, but make it disgusting & horrifying. I feel like CG Drews would like this list

as comprehensive a guide to ya horror as i can make it! work in progress, suggestions welcome ♡

They say spring is the time when nature comes to life. And sometimes that's scary.

books with botanical horror themes, inspired by the botanical horror quest and don't let the forest in!

Sometimes queer, sometimes not, but always feminist - these horror stories tackle patriarchy and ideas about what roles people (are supposed to) play in it.

Shadowy Studies in Unnatural Biology

Plants and women that are pretty but deadly

These YA stories tackle misogyny, male violence, or call out the small ways in which girls, women, and people read as such are treated like possessions, objects, "less than". They may show young women and afabs that refuse the roles others try to force onto them, or simply people standing up and saying "no further". Recs are welcome, as always. For other genres/target audiences, look at my other lists with the word "Feminist" in them.

that specific kind of book with all the pretty but unsettling florals

Speculative fiction stories that heavily feature trains. It's almost become its own subgenre, and there was no list for it; I thought there should be one. Happy to take recs in the comments! (I haven't read all of these. If you think a book doesn't belong on this list, leave a comment!)
