Revenge was supposed to be simple, but love had other plans Emberly When an abusive ex corners me in a nightclub, I cling to the first man I see for protection. Little do I know he’s a mafia Don, fresh out of prison and eager for a one-night stand. One night extends into two, then three. I’m beginning to suspect I can’t leave. But every time I raise questions, he answers with offers impossible to resist. Sometimes, it’s hard to tell if I’m just paranoid or a pawn in a much larger game. Roman When a man gets jailed for a crime he didn’t commit, the first thing he wants after leaving death row is vengeance. The bastard who framed me stole my fortune and bequeathed it to his daughter, Emberly. My plan is Seduce her, force her to give back what’s mine, then put a bullet through her skull. But one taste of her gets me obsessed and my plans turn to dust. Snaring Emberly is a dark romance containing themes that may be disturbing to some. Please check the warnings inside the book.

Roman
Framed for a murder he didn’t commit. Leader of the Mafia wants his family property back that is under a heiress of an enemy.
Emberly
A heiress that doesn’t know she’s a heiress. Running away from an abusive ex and down on her luck.
Solution: Abduction
Method: Let Emberly throw herself at her abductor
Intended result: get all property back to Roman, kill Emberly and we all live happily ever after.
Actual result : Abducts her and falls in love with her. Hard
Roman abducts Emberly to gain control of his family wealth. The gaslighting is so heavy in this book it was almost infuriating how she didn’t see through it all. It was fascinating to see the MMC go from being vengeful and wanting to kill the FMC to falling in love with her, and then wanting to keep her forever by trying to get her pregnant. I would say the FMC was strong, but the side effects of being abused made her blind to the gaslighting from the MMC.
I actually loved the story, the plot and the characters. It’s my first time reading a book by this author and I will be reading more of her work.
