Horns For Hell (Angels)

Rafael Nicolás

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

In between Angels Before Man and Angels & The fallen angel of fruit Rosier lives among cold caves and fiery demons with a soft heart succumbing to comfortable misery. He shares a bed with the monster who'd been his most beloved friend in Heaven, captive now to a beastly body of eternal rot. If there is any love left between them, it's surely a ghost fading with each daybreak. But when the devil commands Rosier to have the Earth bloom with its first fruits — Rosier must confront whether there is really any life after falling from paradise and whether there is really any solace in abandoning all hope.(Contains spoilers for both full-length Angels books).

Another incredible read from this author. Writing a likeable character in a world where everyone's done very messed up things is hard, and the author achieved this.

I do have to say rosier deserves better and fuck asmodeus for what he did to rosier. My sweet summer child.
Rosiers battle with his sin is a theme in the book however I found myself relating to rosier
The quote I've included in my photo and

" why had he done this ? Why did he ever think he was going to like it? 'Somethings wrong with me ."

    And

" what do you like about this body? What do you like about all bodies ?"

I found myself relating to heavily as someone who's asexual or on the ace spectrum and still.coming to terms with that. You never expect yourself to relate to a once angel

The quotes from this author once again were incredible, and I restlessly wait for the third angel book !

There's something truly cathartic about finding such casual representation in the books you read. I stopped reading in 2014 and began again in 2023, so I'm still getting used to having such books at my fingertips

It makes me feel seen, which makes me recall a quote from page 62 from our dear angel rosier

" He didn't like the idea of anyone waiting on who he might become; why couldn't he be loved tue way he is now?"
