Recs if you like Down Among the Sticks and Bones...

in progress - taking suggestions

Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic / lesbian characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

For my favs / read, check out my other lists & shelves.

Don't shoot the messenger.

It's Lesbian visibility week! Here are 100+ books starring lesbians! Includes some non-fiction about lesbian women. (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

books where sisters’ love, hatred, or general angst towards each other is a main factor in [making you cry]/furthering the plot. Including classics/popular fiction, but particularly taking recc’s for standalone/underrepresented genres/nonfiction!!

Novellas, shorter books, and stories that are a decent bite of literature and a full meal despite being compact. Like a burrito on a commute to work. AKA my full novella master list.

books set in drowned or drowning worlds

Somebody asked for a list based on the recs folks gave on my pagebound club post, so this is that! (Plus i dumped a bunch of my faves & tbr in)

books with doors (of any kind) that open to unexpected places

I'm a sucker for them

Books saved from TikTok feed that were labelled as Horror/Fantasy (although I think some were only given that label bc they have vampires in them). I have not read all of these myself personally, so as like my other lists, if one doesn't belong please comment so!

Happy International Women's Day! Have a huge pile of our favorite books starring queer women (fiction and non-fiction!). (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

i am a massive fan of the castlevania games and the anime so i made this totally self indulgent list for myself and others 🙂‍↕️ (for people who don't know it that well, think gothic, vampires, knights, that kind of vibe)

What it says on the tin. I've heard truly excellent things about all of these, so maybe give them a try if you haven't yet?

"We are fashioned creatures, but half made up." -Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

She’s alive in all genres (open to additions!)

Sci-fi and fantasy books prominently featuring queer characters or set in a queer-normative world

Fairytales, classics, science fiction... There are so many stories that have retellings. Here is a list of queer retellings. I'll update it when I finish a new one. Also, some of them are french

for lovers of morally gray or downright unlikeable characters, mysterious plots, and settings that make you want to sleep with the lights on

Because there are so many now and I am very confused every time which one to read next !

Horror (and horror adjacent) books with weird/creepy kids and teenagers

Books featuring twins, identical or otherwise. Feel free to share recs to add to the list
