Death and What Comes Next is a Discworld short story by Terry Pratchett. It tells the story of a discussion between Death and a philosopher, in which the philosopher attempts to use the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics to argue death is not a certainty.

I can never review Terry Pratchett's books properly. I grew up reading them and love them so deeply that the characters are like family and I end up gushing about them like a starry eyed teenager. This one's really no different.
In Death and What Comes Next, Death gets into a discussion with a philosopher who is certain that he's discovered the secret to cheat death. Unsurprisingly, Death is well prepared for this with his customary sarcasm and wisdom about the silly struggles of human beings.
Death has long been one of Terry Pratchett's best characters and I'm not sure how I missed this short story before (it was written in 2002) but it was every bit as delightful as I'd expect from Death and Pratchett. I'll never be able to write a logical, sensible review of a Pratchett story but I loved this just as much as the others.
