Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

Fiction and nonfiction that question patriarchy, critique power, and imagine new futures for anyone tired of individualistic feminism. From ghosts to economics, magic to memoirs, these books challenge everything, and make you think, feel, and maybe even rage a little.

Maybe the one piece was the friendships we made along the way.

All sorts of stories about all sorts of women. Mostly litfic, some horror.

A woman is a docile thing, tame and obedient. Man’s best friend becomes woman’s unlikely mirror. Yet they both bear fangs, and will bite when threatened.

These books explore the tension between domesticity expected of women, and the ways that the men in their lives abuse, demean, and belittle their labor while benefiting from it. And how the rage those women feel boils over until the dog remembers—it was once a wolf.

I’m really fascinated by cover trends in publishing and this one has felt inescapable this year so I decided to make a list of them all! I feel like I personally see this most often in horror & lit fic, but I’d love to hear if you’ve seen this trend outside those genres or if there’s another trend you see!
