This list critically examines the history of U.S. intervention in other countries, unpacking not only regime changes, but how it’s sold to the public. These books explore the political, economic, and strategic interests driving U.S. intervention, the manufactured consent that make it palatable at home, and the severe consequences and destabilization that inevitably follow abroad.

What I was taught does not explain the world as I am witnessing it. So I compiled this list as a personal curriculum for histories that are critical of empire and capitalism, and actually shows us how we got here.

The list is not comprehensive, but I hope it helps people identify the gaps in their own historical education!
