classic (c)literature
classic literature only written by women, because why would a man be there??

books insufferable people claim to have read
puts beret on a jaunty angle โwhy yes i went to Oxbridge and go skiing on my holibobs with papa, why do you ask?โ takes a hit of tobacco flavoured vape, puts asterisk in margin of the obscure classic iโm โreadingโ
the list for people who want to look โwell readโ and need some books to name drop - look no further
if you have read them, more power to you, but this is explicitly about the people who claim to have read them but canโt read instructions on pasta

Niche Classics
Overlooked, lesser known classics from all over the world and of many genres.
This list also exists as a book club on Fable under the same name.

Penguin's 100 Must-Read Classics

Man, if only England were real
For all those recovering anglophiles that arenโt trying very hard to recover. This is a collection of books that depict England in either a fantasy setting or otherwise unconventional. Suggestions super welcome :)

Internet Archive Saves the Day! (And My Wallet)
Inspired to create a list by a post from @mmyth, I thought it would be nice to have a list of quest books you can download and read for free via Internet Archive. Recommendations gladly accepted. Happy reading ya'll!
(Please note this will ONLY contain books found through Internet Archive and no other sources, I don't want to run into possible mistakes and copyright headaches.)
Update: This list will also include books you can borrow through Open Library, a part of Internet Archive. In addition, this will only show English-language availability.

40 women to read across 4 centurys
40 women, 4 centurys, tons of countries, tons of lenguages. Some of them are worldwide famous, some are more niche, i wanted all of them to stand out for some important reason
I know i'm missing a lot of authors, this isn't a list about the best 40 women, these are just 40 women that i haven't read, and if I have read them, I wanted to read some of their least known books like in the case of sylvia Plath, or continue reading their work like with Robin Hobb or R.F Kuang. If you want to add more to this list please share in the comments

Classics by Women Authors
This list includes Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Louisa May Alcott, and L M Montgomery

Oxford Reading List for English
Found this online - a reading list of a first year English course at Oxford University. Wanted to create this for my own enjoyment and figured someone else might like it too! I only added the fiction and poetry books and I also did not add any companions.
The last bit (from bottom up to Woolfโs Mrs Dalloway) are required reading - top half is recommended.
