I asked Pagebound for books with a book inside the book. The following list is made up out of those recommendations. In some of them the MC is writing or reading a book that you also get to read, in others it is short stories or oral histories. In all of them, you get more then just one story. I have not read all of these books. I am open to more recommendations.

Fresh, original fantasy that makes me feel some type of way. Whether it be the characters, plot, writing style, or worldbuilding, these books stand out from the crowd as unique. Fantasy, and its many sub-genres, is highly saturated and at times it can feel like I'm reading the same story over and over again. This list is sure to surprise and delight even the most seasoned fantasy reader.
