The Last Song of Penelope (The Songs of Penelope, #3)

Just realised I never rated this last year, probably because I was full on sobbing when I finished it. Claire North I will be your ride or die until the end of time for this one. Greek Myth Retellings as a genre have become incredibly popular but when you see it done like this you see their merit: the ability to take a story that has been passed down for thousands of years and shifting the perspective to actually give women a voice is so genuinely refreshing and gut wrenchingly heartbreaking. It changes from the hero's glorious return to a horror story. The audiobook is stunning, I highly recommended it.
