Recs if you like We Were Never Here...

in progress - taking suggestions

Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

For my favs / read, check out my other lists & shelves.

Don't shoot the messenger.

We should all be reading queer, all year, but this list is full of upcoming queer books of all makes and models coming out in 2026. If you have a rec to add, just please keep in mind we’re looking for 2026 releases!

queer horror books releasing in 2026 and beyond! my aim is to keep this list updated as new releases come out, so you can always check back here to see what’s queer and scary and coming soon!

recommendations welcome, but i’m only including titles when and if they are confirmed to have queer representation.

collecting all 2026 releases featuring sapphic romance!!

was curious, so did some research and found loads and loads!!! happy reading, folks!

A genre-inclusive and diverse list of horror releases coming in 2026. If I missed any or you have suggestions, please let me know. I will update periodically as new books are announced and release dates are solidified.

Source for a lot of the data for this list came from readjumpscares.com, which is a website you should absolutely check out. I’m sure data will come from other places along the way, as well.

Horror books to read just for the aesthetic

i'm kicking my feet with anticipation for these books to finally be in my hands (physically or digitally but as always, mostly through my library apps) so it was only right i make a list to share with the class! happy lezzing out in 2026 💌

So many sapphic books are coming out this year, and I’m so excited to read every single one!

as comprehensive a guide to ya horror as i can make it! work in progress, suggestions welcome ♡

Every year we get more and more queer books in more and more diverse genres and I for one would like to roll around in all of them from sheer joy 🙂‍↕️ since I can’t do that here is a list to metaphorically roll around in instead.

Disclaimer: all books had 2026 releases at the time of adding. The publishing industry does change things around though.

another trend I've noticed lately - bisected & dual color covers

books that uses neon green💚 on their cover! usually for the title and sometimes as a background color!

sadly, the default pagebound editions might not be the correct ones so you’ll have to look through the available editions. pagebound please let us choose</3

open to recs!

this list features upcoming books that feature sapphic MCs or romance and are releasing in 2026!

I got a request for a list of sapphic fiction/romances with ambiguous covers that wouldn't be flagged by their country's customs and subsequently tossed. Thought I'd post it here, in case it might benefit someone else!

books centered around ghost hunters! not all horror, but most of them will be

LGBTQ+ women and enbies in strange or unusual circumstances

CW: a couple of the books included here contain heavy subject matter. I encourage you to look for content warnings before engaging.

Books currently being considered: Mulligan & Ostertag, Strong Female Protagonist O'Neill, When We Lost Our Heads Sanderson, Warbreaker??

Not all of these books will have cannibalism... but there is a non-zero chance at least 1% will.
