Blue Crush (Blue, #2)

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

In the Blue Series, love in Lake Tahoe means looking beneath the surface. "Blue Crush is an addictive romance with a touch of suspense . . ." -- Tobi Helton, Forget the Housework, I'm Reading Genevieve Tierney moves to Lake Tahoe after college, determined to go it alone after being betrayed by her boyfriend. Working at a casino and avoiding cheating jerks seems like a good plan, until she meets the one guy tempting enough to drag her back down. Lewis Sallee is six and a half feet of perfectly sculpted mountain man who threatens Gen’s play-it-safe approach and awakens a sex drive she never knew she had. Although Lewis is in a complicated relationship with one of the most beautiful women Gen has ever seen, she can’t seem to control her attraction to him. To boost her confidence, Gen steps out of her comfort zone and signs up for the Alpine Mudder, a gritty endurance race. But as she prepares for the biggest physical challenge of her life, her emotional strength is pushed to its limits after she accepts Lewis’s help in training. He tests her willpower and has her fighting her body’s response to him—with her mind and heart not far behind. Blue Crush is the 2nd book in the Blue Series. Each book in the Blue Series is a standalone and does not need to be read in order, but characters pop up again so it's fun to read them sequentially.

I read a few reviews on Goodreads about Blue Crush, saying that it wasn't a great book. I disagree! I LOVE IT! While it does repeat a few scenes from the first book—this story takes place at the same time as Deep Blue—it is amazing because the scenes that are repeated are very minimal. I can probably count them in one hand and we got to see into Genevieve's head when these scenes happened.

Lewis isn't one of my book boyfriends, but hot damn that man is FINE! He is beyond hot!

Lewis is also a great person. You see, Mira and him go way back and because they are so close he hasn't dated girls, only had one serious girlfriend. When Gen comes along, he wants to make her his and never let go, but Mira doesn't want to hear it. She's afraid Lewis will leave her. I will only say one thing: Lewis is not who you think he is. In the beginning of the story, I was so mad at him for what he was doing until I learned the story and I immediately loved him.

Gen is a strong woman that I love. She used to be very quiet, never speaking up for herself and the reader gets to see character growth/development with her. She changed for the better and I was proud of her. In this story, Gen learns a secret that has her devastated—I would be if I was in her shoes, but I am not because...[Read more on GenGen's Book Blog

I love the sizzling chemistry Gen and Lewis have. I especially love love love the part when they were at the cascade. Man, that was scorching hot! I wish I had more scenes like that one.

As I mentioned on my review for Deep Blue here!, I want to visit Lake Tahoe. I remember I wanted to have my honeymoon there. Hopefully, one day I get to visit :)
