Trace's focus should only be his daughter, but Keely didn't get the memo and immediately becomes besties with the new neighbor, Ellie. Unfortunately for Trace, Keely and Ellie form a bond that's unlike any other. Ellie helps Keely embrace her quirks and her love for all things rainbows, unicorns, and colorful chaos—something Ellie wishes someone had done for her when she was growing up under the hostile shadow of her father.

Ellie loves that Keely has a father who lets her be fully herself, and that only makes her fall even harder for the next-door sheriff. The romance here is so beautiful, breathtaking, and everything you'd expect from this author.

And the suspense delivers! I love how Catherine always balances the sweetness of the romance with a gripping mystery. The climax always pays off, too! At this point, I've fully given up trying to figure out who the villain is in her books; it's impossible to guess, and I love that!

What truly makes this book shine is the found family. I mean, these people constantly show up for each other in every way that counts. I'm officially nominating myself to be an honorary Colson! I only wish these characters were real so they could adopt me. And of course, it wouldn't be the Colson crew without Lolli, the hilarious, unfiltered grandma who always has me laughing out loud.

Overall, Chasing Shelter is a romance story about healing, self-discovery, and finding love when you least expect it.

Entertaining, kept me glued to the audiobook. The plot twists were plot twisting.

4.25 ⭐️ I wasn't sure what to expect from this story, especially knowing how much Denver wanted Blair back. I expected so much hostility from Blair, but it was so not the case! Watching these two come together—seeing Blair letting down her walls—it was precious!

It really is second chance at its finest. I'm always iffy on second chance romances, because I feel like the story can focus way too much on the past and not much on the present, but the author did a great job balancing both!

"I want you, Blair. If you're the bride, I want to get married. If you're the mother, I want kids."

And as always, I love being back in Wells Canyon.
