Postcard-perfect Jar Island is home to charming tourist shops, pristine beaches, amazing oceanfront homes—and three girls secretly plotting revenge. KAT is sick and tired of being bullied by her former best friend. LILLIA has always looked out for her little sister, so when she discovers that one of her guy friends has been secretly hooking up with her, she’s going to put a stop to it. MARY is perpetually haunted by a traumatic event from years past, and the boy who’s responsible has yet to get what’s coming to him. None of the girls can act on their revenge fantasies alone without being suspected. But together…anything is possible. With an alliance in place, there will be no more “I wish I’d said…” or “If I could go back and do things differently...” These girls will show Jar Island that revenge is a dish best enjoyed together.

This book is a decade old and I'm probably a decade (or two) past my prime enjoyment of the plot. But there's a mystery element that I'm pretty sure I've figured out (I'm already on book two as I write this) that I'm excited to see how it plays out.
It's a lot of teenage drama and honestly more than I really care to read, but it's very fast paced and I'm interested to see how the paranormal element plays out.
I think if someone was more in the age bracket for the story they would enjoy it more.
I did find quite a few issues with the girls' discussions of weight and body shaming and things that you typically saw a lot more in the early 2000's in books. While I agree it's important for the characters to feel authentic, I also feel like its important for the author to make sure teens understand that while these toxic viewpoints can be normal in that age bracket, they're still toxic and harmful and I'm not sure that Han and Vivian were able to express that.
