A murder leads investigators to an address of a brothel where arrest is made of some of Chicago's powerful citizens, there is a lot of evidence but an important piece is missing: the black book.
As I stated in my 176-page update I stop reading because the book wasn't intriguing, but I decided to start reading it again, and it really started to pick up.
I really enjoyed William Harney's (Billy) character from the way he carried out his investigation to him being shot, his memory loss and finally regaining his memory to testify in court. (no more spoilers)
Apart from the switch between past and present that had me confused, this book was really well done especially that shocking revelation at the end.
Anybody that loves a good thriller that's full of twists and shocking revelations will really enjoy this book.
