I liked this narrator. He did a subtle change in tone when reading Shays POV vs Ford.

This was almost 2 separate stories. 1 we get Ford and team investigating bad guys. 2 we get Shay and Ford in the bedroom. We know from what Shay and Ford are thinking when we are in their POV that they are both into each other, but other than sex and 1 date, we don’t see their relationship on page.

I read this for anti-hero month for book club. Ford isn’t a villain, he’s doing a bad thing for good reasons. But I was mad at him for it. We know his mission is to spy on Shay, but it doesn’t seem like he HAD to sleep with her. But the whole team is 100% on board with sex for the job. Shay was angry when she found out, but we don’t see her finding out everything (she should be told she was on video having sex while he was undercover). She doesn’t find out until about 84% in. I think I would have rather seen her find out sooner, but we stuck with Ford while she’s pissed at him. He does go into cold storage for a couple weeks before he comes back to apologize again, so he suffers. He does qualify as an anti-hero to Shay.
