I had asked friends to give me a 5 star read and boy did they not dissappoint. Wild is the Witch is a beautifully written story about magic, secrets and love.

The prologue perfectly captivated my interests and honestly if I hadn't started this in the middle of the night with uni the next day this probably would have been a 1 sit wonder.

The magic system in this book is phenomenal. I love the concepts the author created about how magic cannot create or destroy only guide, and how a witch's touch to magic is a sense. It was incredibly well written and honestly, just beautiful.

My heart ached for Iris towards the end when secrets were revealed and a few tears were shed.

Any book that plays with my emotions of wonder and sorrow deserve the 5 stars.

this made me so emotional. the way the author described grief was incredible. grief has many forms and you can grieve plenty of things. the life you could have had, the friend that you had and lost. it was incridibly written. I loved the anxiety rep. as someone who has been medicated for years bcause of it and still suffers, it was so real and i felt really grateful. the author used such good metaphors. Anxiety is different for every one and its so ard to describe it even in general terms. She did so well describing it and once again i felt seen

Thank you so much to Sourcebooks and Netgalley for providing an e-arc and ALC of this! All thoughts and opinions are still my own.

Wow what a fantastic witchy YA romance. I absolutely fell in love with Rachel Griffin's writing in her debut novel, and I loved it just as much in this story. The way she describes nature and magic is stunning and makes her worlds feel real.

I loved the atmosphere in here. The PNW is already such a magical feeling environment, so it felt so natural for it to be witchy. And I loved how the magic was built and described. It's vague enough that I didn't feel like I was bogged down by rules, but grounded enough (pun intended) to feel real.

It's been awhile since I've loved a YA romance as much as this, but I couldn't help but love these characters. They both flawed and somewhat messy, while still feeling relatable. They both have beliefs that stem from traumas in their path that stand in the way of accepting each other.

And isolating them in the woods - with only one tent (!) - was the perfect backdrop to them working through their differences.

The audiobook was fantastic and completely captivated me for the entire story. I read the majority of this in a single sitting because once the story got moving, I was completely sucked in.

Rachel Griffin is definitely an author I plan to continue picking up books from! I can't wait to see what she writes next

I received an e-arc of Wild is the Witch by Rachel Griffin from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
I didn't know what to expect going into this one, but after really enjoying Rachel Griffin's debut, all I needed to know what that it was about witches again, this time with enemies to lovers and only one tent.
Unfortunately, I didn't love this as much as The Nature of Witches. I think I was expecting more from the romance than what we got, and I felt that the ending was kind of abrupt, I would have liked maybe 50 more pages with the characters. The magic system in this was just as interesting as the one in The Nature of Witches, and it was easy to understand.
I loved seeing Iris's anxiety representation, it felt real to my own experiences and is always good to see this represented in books.
    3 stars.
