I loved all the kids in this book. Callie was an amazing main character, and I loved what they were fighting for. El was fantastic, and in her own way, stood up and made a change for Helston. Willow was amazing, and I loved following his story. Edwyn went a journey over these course of this story, and I loved seeing them grow. Nick and Neal were fantastic parents.
Atmosphre-9
I loved the atmosphere of Helston. I definitely got the medieval fantasy vibes from the descriptions.
Writng-10
This story was written with a lot of heart. I loved how Esme Symes-Smith told this story. I felt the writing style fit well for the story being told. I loved ht balance of light and fun scenes with serious ones for the overall tone of the story.
Plot-10
I loved the story. I enjoy The Chosen One trope when done well, and this is definitely done well. I loved following along on the journey with Callie. This story had elements I enjoyed, and elements I loved in the plot. I loved the found family vibes, sticking up for what's right, and making a change.
Intrigue-9
I was interested in this book from beginning to end. I both wanted to keep reading to see where the story was going, and didn't want the story to end.

This was a logical story. I loved how the magic was explained, and how the characters' actions and choices were explained.

I loved this book! I had such a great time reading it. This will definitely be a book I remember and one that is definetly a contendor for favorite read of the year.
