Recs if you like Empire of Storms...

A list of books with corrupt, evil, or just downright bad governments! I'm not sure how I ended up reading so many of these types of books (prob my love for dystopia) but here I am haha. Most of these will prob include taking down said evil government. I will update this list as I read more books with bad govs.

Inspired by, and initially sourced from recommendations within, the Pagebound Club post by Justsomecrazyhuman, this is a list of fantasy novels where periods exist. Shocking, I know!

The god tier list

this is the reading order for the Sarah J Maas universe if you want the most emotional damage. if you want to read AB first for TOG series you can. if you want to focus on one series at a time i recommend TOG > ACOTAR > CC so you see the writing progress as you read! happy reading

A small selection of the over 2000+ banned books recently brought to the attention of Texas' Lt. Gov and a conservative organization for their for "vulgar" material 🙄 including topics of history, race, LGBTQ+, gender identity, feminism, mental health, and sex education as well as romance, horror, science fiction, memoirs, YA, and classic genres. Aka my new reading list 💅 **Includes all the books I've read/on my TBR and other popular books, comment others if you want!!

This list features book covers illustrated/designed by Pennsylvania-based artist Jim Tierney. Tierney's illustrations feature sweeping textures, dramatic lighting, and bold, nostalgic text design, as you will definitely note while scrolling through this list. Please note that in some cases, his work is one of multiple versions of cover art for the same book, so it may appear as a different version here than the one he illustrated. In some cases I have avoided adding specific versions to curb confusion.

Series I'm reading or have read that changed my personality a lil bit.

For those trying to complete all of SJM's books before the next ACOTAR books release!

Angry FMCs

I primarily get books from the library. These are books I would spend money on to read again.

A super specific reread order to prep for ACOTAR 6 and 7 where Assassin’s Blade novellas are broken up and Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn are tandem read.

Magic, chosen family, impossible odds and characters that grow with you. Sarah J. Maas doesn’t just write fantasy — she writes journeys you live through. Once you enter these worlds, you never really leave.

my fave fantasy novels

Strong, smart, and seriously deadly—this shelf is packed with fierce female leads who don’t wait to be rescued. Think assassins, rebels, queens, and magic-wielders rewriting their fate one battle at a time. These stories bring the action, heart, and power—all led by women who were born to break the rules. If you’re into high-stakes drama, deadly skills, and heroines with bite, this shelf was made for you.
