All My Rage

i have to say, something about pakistani dramas (the old meaningful ones) and now books makes me want to claw at my skin for how brilliantly realistic and painful they are. This was heart wrenching and i wish to never read it again.

I haven't read An Ember in The Ashes so this is my first Sabaa Tahir book and I loved it, The relationships and issues in this were so real, some parts were hard to read but this was so good

By rule, as a story that made me emotional, this gets 5 stars without a doubt.

All My Rage is a non-linear story that spans two generations and it's more than just a love story between high schoolers, it covers death, loss, grief, rage, poverty, abuse, discrimination, and lastly, forgiveness. Sal and Noor are at the center of it, but largely affected by their family's past, Sal growing up with an alcoholic father who has difficulties dealing with hardships in life and mom suffering from kidney disease, and Noor living with an ever angry uncle who remained as her only relative after everyone else in their family died. They are childhood friends growing closer and further apart, going through immense hardships for their age.

This is a must read fit for everyone. It's a beautifully written yet realistic story that describes common immigrant experiences in America. It's so important to have awareness and empathy for the additional challenges that minority groups like theirs face lifelong.

Não foi um livro de me tirar o folgo, no entanto gostei.
A personagem da Noor foi de longe a melhor e a mais relatable para mim. Todas as dificuldades que ela estava a enfrentar assim como a personalidade dela foram o highlight da história.
Já o Salahudin foi uma desilusão enquanto personagem, mas ele foi na mesma uma personagem muito real e isso melhora substancialmente a história.
Nunca tinha lido uma história sobre o islão e conseguir conhecer mais sobre esta religião e também sobre o Paquistão foi muito interessante.
Fiquei muito "tocada" com o final do livro, mas o ponto alto foi sem dúvida a cena da morte da Misbah.
